How can you remove Search Donkey on your own?

Search Donkey is a browser add-on, which can get onto users’ system either with or without user's permission asked as you download/install other programs on the PC. In many situations, such an add-on will direct users to unknown domains that users really do not want at all; at the other side, it may also be set to track and record users’ browsing activities so as to perform some malicious purpose. If you are in a need to remove Search Donkey, directly follow steps here.

When in a need to uninstall the Search Donkey toolbar from your computer, try steps first. This can take you quite a longer time and sometimes will be risky. Anyhow, I hope that you are the lucky dog and was able to manually remove it, lol…

*Quit it the app by right-clicking the icon in your Windows taskbar and selecting Exit.
*Go to Start button, Control Panel, click on Add/Remove Programs if you are using XP or Programs & Features if you are using Win 7 /Vista.
*Then, a window will appear with all the currently installed programs listing;
*Select Search Donkey toolbar in the list and click Uninstall to start the process.
*When the removal finishes, manually check your hard disk and registry database to get rid of all leftovers so as to ensure a total removal.

After a removal from the Add/Remove Programs, I sincerely hope that you can check your browsers as well to remove the related extension. Otherwise, you will still be redirected to unknown pages when opening your browsers.

->For Google Chrome: click on Chrome menu button; go to Tools, Extensions, select Search Donkey and click trashcan icon to remove it.

->For Mozilla Firefox: run your Firefox, go to Help, Troubleshooting Information in menu; click the Reset Firefox button.

-> For IE, run your browser: go to Tools and select Manage add-ons; within the Toolbars and Extensions tab, select Search Donkey, and click on Disable.

After the above steps, you need to make sure that all the above folders or data has been deleted. If not, they will also bring in errors when you are using the computer in the future. Also, it’s time to clear up the registry so as to ensure a total removal of the Search Donkey toolbar. You can do it manually by locating the Search Donkey folder from Registry Editor: go to Start, run, type “regedit” and press Enter to go. However, this manual process is only recommended to those who have experienced PC knowledge; or, you might come to the chance to suffer from various unknown error. For the smooth computer running, you’d better rely on a registry cleaning tool to do the job for you!

However, based on my own experience, I would recommend you to try an uninstaller named Perfect Uninstaller so as to totally get the Search Donkey toolbar off your computer. This is due to the fact that, the Search Donkey might annoyingly leave unknown remnants in different corners of the hard disk, or add some suspicious extensions to your web browsers. A manual removal might be quite difficult or time-consuming to check and delete all these off your machine.
